Jewelry Care

Jewelry should be worn everyday and last a lifetime. So here is a little guide how to care for your pieces and make them look like new. 

Sterling Silver

Use a small polishing cloth to clean off any dirt or tarnish. 

For a more deep cleaning; Put some baking powder in a bowl, place your jewelry on top and add some boiling water so the jewelry piece is covered, leave for a couple of minutes and rinse off. Dry it and finish off with a polishing cloth or soft paper.

To delay oxidation, keep your jewellery away from moisture, shower steam, and other water activities. Let your beauty products dry on your skin before you put your jewellery on. When you’re not wearing your jewellery, store it in a box or tissue bag.

Brass  

The high copper content in brass can cause it to darken over time. This is primarily due to a reaction to water and humidity, but don't worry there is a few ways to clean your brass pieces.

We provide a small polishing cloth with each brass purchase, and recommend you use this cloth to clean off any dirt or tarnish. 

For a more deep cleaning; Put some baking powder in a bowl, place your jewelry on top and add some boiling water so the jewelry piece is covered, leave for a couple of minutes and rinse off. Dry it and finish off with your polishing cloth, your piece will look like new.

Some people experience a green coloring to the skin when it comes in contact with brass, specially if in contact with water or sweat. This is perfectly safe but if you want to avoid this a good tip is to put some clear nail polish on the place where the metal comes in touch with the skin.

Gold Plate

You can use a soft dry cloth to clean your gold plated jewelry, however do make sure the cloth doesn't have any chemicals on as this can wear of the gold plating.
